ALEJO DE SANCHA: PAPI CAZOAlejo de Sancha was born and brought up in Spain which is clear through his musical influences and style, but has been based in London as a musician, DJ and record producer for 15 years.
Over this time Alejo has created his records under a variety of different disguises but is most famous as Papi Cazo, and has grown to be highly recognised and respected amongst music fanatics and around the independent music industry.
His musical influences are mainly drawn from his Spanish background of salsa, Latino blended with soul, funk and jazz giving his work a modern twist.
Alejo de Sancha is a multi-talented musician and when recording swaps between playing the main musical parts (e.g. the drums, guitar, piano, trumpet, double bass and saxophone). But when playing live he is always surrounded by a large band with a variety of instruments creating different sounds and styles. This produces a unique and intense live musical experience in which he always hides his true identity by wearing a Mexican wrestling mask.
Under the name of Papi Cazo, de Sancha has previously been known only for his one off tracks and mixes on compilation albums and mysterious sets at clubs, festivals and gigs. But on the set up of his own label Rhythms and Feels (R&F), Alejo has had the opportunity to launch Papi Cazo as a big name in the music industry and is releasing his first ever solo album of purely his own material. He is also planning to release his debut single alongside the new independent Film Mercado.
